I “I thought you would’ve cried” echoed long after
the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th bundle of hair had
fallen to the floor but no tears were shed. A smile
took form instead.

Never once feeling truer to
myself than that day forward. I
started looking past the mirror
and saw a little bit clearer.

II On days like this comfort is easier to
find when we stopped looking in empty
places.

No wild flames sprouted from our shining
crowns but instead, our blaze came from our
laughter.
